Pila in Aosta Valley

Mountain vacation and sports

Pila winter landscape

Pila is set in a basin among the mountains and forests of the Aosta Valley at 1800 m altitude, in a privileged location sheltered by the wind, and with an outstanding panoramic view that takes in the entire Valley, from Mont Blanc to Cervino.

A renowned site for winter sports, Pila boasts a state of the art ski complex with approximately 70 km of trails that extend up to 2700 m altitude. In Pila, the trails are always perfectly smoothed and snow-covered, thanks to the planned snow production with approximately 300 high pressure cannons; they are technically very diverse, ensuring enjoyment for all skiers, from beginners to experts. Freeride, snowboard, Alpine skiing and excursions with cross-country skis or snowshoes enhance the offerings for fans of snow sports.

During the summer, the activities are just as numerous: walks along marked trails both for families and expert trekkers, climbing, via ferrata (protected climbing routes), and paths to travel on horseback or by mountain bike. For those who love adrenaline on two wheels, Pila offers a downhill and freeride trail that is also the annual site of international competitions.

Pila is located 17 km from Aosta and is easily reached not only by car but also with the gondola lift that connects it directly with Aosta. The apartments for rent are just minutes from the mid-line Les Fleurs stop of the Aosta/Pila gondola lift.
